Replacing air filters is one of the most important steps for maintaining your system and increasing its efficiency.

We recommend a filter that is efficient, unexpensive, and does not restrict the airflow and should be replaced periodically.

You can not have good quality inside air if your filter compartment is not completly sealed. An air return shaft that is not sealed can easily take the air from the attic with all its suspended dust and insulation particles.

You may have more than one filter in your system. In some cases the air handler holds one filter in addition to the filter you replace in your filter grill. The second filter will have to be checked/replaced at least twice a year.

One of the causes of a system to freeze is lack of air flow through the system. A dirty or stopped up filter can easliy restrict the air flow and can cause the system to freeze.

SIZING THE SYSTEM
No matter which type of AC system you choose, sizing it to your home and cooling needs is important. More so than with heating systems, the cost of air conditioning systems rises significantly with larger equipment. Oversized units cost more to operate and don't dehumidify the air as well.
